Yes! You do need your own website. You can control your own brand and messages, and also benefit from direct sales and bookings. It is also a way to collect email addresses of your fans - a list that you own (unlike social media where they own the relationship).

Squarespace pricing starts at $15/month so is very reasonable. As a client, I can give you 20% off an annual plan. -
Squarespace is the perfect platform for authors and creatives. It is easy to use, has swizzy features and is more secure than sites like Wordpress.

You essentially need: Home page, About page, Books or Services page with easy links to click through and book or buy, and a Contact page. I also recommend an email list. list (with an email list ideally).
